If you are a traveling lover, we bet you have at least once heard of the World Wonders, Ha Long Bay. On the first day of the tour, we visited Thac Ba Lake, also known as Ha Long Bay, on the mountain. The lake stands among the top three largest artificial lakes in Vietnam.
We decided to go for the off-road route because we wanted to conquer challenging roads and terrains. After finishing the nearly 180 km route, we reached Thac Ba lake. The charming and tranquil vibe of Thac Ba lake made us forget the fatigue from the hardcore offroad Vietnam motorbike ride.
We could see many forested islands on the surface of Thac Ba lake. Then, we went on a cruise along the lake to discover the splendid and mysterious limestone mountain caves of Thac Ba lake.
On the second day of the tour, a long 210km motorcycle ride was waiting for us, so we woke up early to pack our stuff and enjoy more of the dreamlike sights of Thac Ba lake.
Our team rented bikes and pedaled around Thac Ba lake for sightseeing and taking full lungs of fresh air. Then, we had a delicious lunch filled with traditional Vietnamese cuisine in Quang Binh town.
Next, we faced winding roads throughout a jungle to discover the eco-diversity of Vietnam and merge ourselves into nature. Luckily, we came across a picturesque waterfall to wash our faces with the refreshing water and capture unforgettable moments with our cameras.
Before reaching Xin Man, the spectacular sunset vibe mixed with Vietnam's gorgeous yellow terraced paddy fields dropped our jaws.
We were excited to visit Sapa, one of the most well-known locations in Northwest Vietnam, so the 220km route on the third day didn’t matter. We rode our motorbikes along Love road to reach Sapa.
As its name suggested, Love road was a long route consisting of many poetic sights like the organized yellow terraced fields, the natural primitive forests, and the crystal springs.
On the way to Sapa, we stopped to visit the Bac Ha fair and chatted with local ethnic people to learn more about Vietnam’s diverse culture. If we had had more time, we would have visited Nhung Khau Thin and Can Cau fairs. So, we will save the two fairs for the next motorcycle tour. Today is one of the most highlights of Vietnam motorcycle tour.
Magnificent blooming orchids and fruitful peach gardens were remarkable contributions to the incredible beauty of Sapa. Fortunately, we came at the right time to capture all the best sights of Sapa into our minds.
Than Uyen was our first destination on the fourth day of the motorbike tour. We could have a panoramic view of Than Uyen valley when we rode along the hilly roads. The valley combines various river systems and endless yellow terraced fields, making it a wonderful picture of nature.
Then, we challenged ourselves with the foggy weather on the O Quy Ho pass. After passing O Quy Ho, we again contemplated the unique and spectacular scenery of yellow terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai.
We finished the 227 km route on the fourth day in Nghia Lo town in Yen Bai province. It would be a mistake if you came to Nghia Lo without tasting the town’s traditional iridescent sticky rice, buying some high-grade brocade souvenirs, and participating in a Thai dance with local people.
Waking up after a tight night’s sleep, we felt a refreshing energy flow inside. On the last day of the tour, we decided to go on the smooth and flat terrains to relax and comfortably enjoy the breathtaking and tranquil sights of Northwest Vietnam before returning to the crowded capital. The ride today could be the best motorbike tour in Vietnam.
Joining the Northwest Vietnam motorbike tour was an accurate decision that we will never regret. The pristine and majestic mountainous areas of Vietnam can be found nowhere on Earth. Northwest Vietnam is still our top-choice location for our motorbike travel in the future.
