Sapa Motorbike Tour: 5 Days On The Go!

Day 1: Hanoi - Phu Yen Motorbike Tour

We got together at 8 a.m. to begin our action-packed day and took QL32 from Hanoi to Phuc Tho, Son Tay, and Ba Vi. Our team encountered Trung Ha Bridge and headed into Co Tiet, where we turned left toward Thanh Son. 

Our motorbike route from Thanh Son to Thu Cuc took us via Highway 32 via Tan Son, and we left onto Highway 32b to get to Phu Yen. 

There were a few twisting passes on that road. As we went down this path, we had a far-out chance to see the quaint streams and the people's simple lives in these dense woodlands.

Forested yet rugged mountains border Phu Yen. This woodland had many ancient trees, giving visitors an incredible sensation of being one with Mother Nature. What's more, the water's soothing sounds of water from Dun creek were a welcome distraction after a long, tense drive.

Day 2: Phu Yen - Mu Cang Chai Motorcycle Tour

Refreshed from the previous day; we set off on a motorcycle for Mu Cang Chai. To get to Van Chan (Yen Bai), we left Phu Yen (Son La) to learn more about Vietnam's history. 

Our experienced guide said that Vietnamese forces frequently carried weapons and ammunition over this route to support the Dien Bien Phu battle, making it an integral strategic corridor throughout the war. 

We left a prestigious pass in Phu Yen and headed south on National Highway 37. The route was brief but presented a noticeable challenge to even the seasoned riders.

After a hearty local meal, our crew rode to Mu Cang Chai. Several picturesque vantage locations presented themselves along the way. 

Sometimes, we got a rice-grown whiff in the vast fields. The glorious sundown seemed to highlight the defining character of Mu Cang Chai in front of our naked eyes. It is located in the plateau’s heart and surrounded by colossal mountain ranges, twisting routes, and gorgeous old-growth woods. All of which add to its untamed beauty.

Day 3: Mu Cang Chai - Sapa Motorbike Tour

Early in the morning, we kissed goodbye to the majestic Mu Cang Chai and reached O Quy Ho Pass, where we spent some time hanging out amid the clouds and the mountains. 

No one could overlook the immense fields of tea, maize, and rice that line the railroad. In addition, the thrill and relief of overcoming a challenging mountain pass or an epic mountain range were also real possibilities.

Sapa is a popular stop for travelers exploring the Northern Hemisphere's mountainous regions. 

Sapa Stone Church was the first and primary location we proposed since it is the go-to place for visitors to register and take amazing shots. The church, a notable landmark in the heart of Sapa's downtown, was erected during the French colonial era for religious purposes. 

We toured around this picturesque town and studied local culture before returning to the guest house. Within this friendly setting, we openly discussed our experiences on our trip.

Day 4: Sapa - Thac Ba Lake Motorbike Tour

We had a whole day of leisurely cycling, strolling, sailing, fishing, and conversing with Yen Bai's indigenous peoples ahead of us at the Vu Linh eco-tourism site. 

An arduous journey from Sapa to Vu Linh was ahead of us before we even began considering the fun activities. Following our departure from Sapa, we traveled via Lao Cai city (Yen Bai) on the CT15 route to our venue for the day.

As natural-world lovers, we had a soft spot for Ngoi Tu hamlet in Vu Linh commune. The village administration is aware of the need to protect natural resources. It also makes an effort to plan events to make use of the local landscapes. 

All buildings were designed with environmental considerations in mind. Once we saw the sights of Vu Linh hamlet, it was time to sample some local food and try the renowned Dao wine.

Vu Linh wine, fermented by hand from rice, was incredibly potent and fragrant. In the end, there was a whole day yet to write about.

Day 5: Vu Linh Village - Hanoi Motorcycle Tour

Vu Linh village's Thac Ba Lake is one of its most alluring gateways. Our crew headed to the lake the next day, with the hydroelectric dam as our first destination. 

Power generated by the dam is used to mitigate the effects of climate change in the Northern Delta area, which is used to alleviate the impact of both flooding and drought. 

Owing to the immense human labor required to construct the tank, it was held in high esteem as a local architectural marvel. Thac Ba, a district in the Limestone Mountains’ heart, was our next stop, and its caverns were the next thing to be explored by boat. 

One of the most impressive was the Thuy Tien cave, known for its stunning stalactites. There, we continued our ascent along the rough road. Chay River made a lovely S-curve across the mountains in this area at that time. 

From that vantage point, the stunning rice terraces and vivid views of traditional stilt dwellings drew all our attention. Any vacation of ours was often loaded with mixed emotions.

The time to say farewell to your newfound friends in the tranquil North of Vietnam came to make the return to Hanoi. On the way to the QL32, we stopped for lunch and returned early to avoid the capital's afternoon traffic.
