Tour Details

Day 1: Hanoi Motorbike Ride to Mai Hich (190km)

At 8:00 a.m. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Hanoi and bring you to our retail shop to begin your unique Vietnam – Laos motorcycle tour. It will largely travel on simple paved paths with magnificent scenery, passing through several beautiful Thai communities, including the Muong people, who live in stilted homes surrounded by green plantations. Finish the first day at Mai Hich village, one of the Thai people's tranquil communities.

Day 2: Mai Hich - Cross Laos’ border (distance 227km)

Start the trip about 8:30 a.m. after breakfast with the family. Ride along the Mai Chau valley and the Ma river on a lovely and lush path. If the weather permits, we can also go off-road for 25 kilometers before passing the Na Meo border gate into Laos. The terrain in Laos abruptly altered, with a much quieter route and several mountain passes to cross. The last 80 kilometers are pretty rough. Around 5:00 p.m., the ride will come to an end. This is the longest day of the Vietnam – Laos motorcycle journey, but it is also the most unforgettable. At Sam Nuea, stay in a motel.

Day 3: Sam Nuea - Xieng Khouang (distance 208km)

Leaving Samnuea at 8:30 a.m., continue your gorgeous Laos motorcycle trip. We'll be riding up and down a number of beautiful passes. Along the route, take a short off-road bike to a small hill tribal community. We will explore the renowned Plain Of Jars before arriving at Xieng Khouang. In Xieng Khouang, and stay in a local hotel.

Day 4:  Xieng Khouang to Luang Prabang (distance 287km)

This is the longest and most gorgeous day of the 11-day Vietnam-Laos motorcycle journey. Start your day a little early, about 8:00 a.m. We'll ride our motorcycles to Luang Prabang, which has lovely terraces, through relatively easy passes. There will be several picture opportunities of gorgeous scenery and numerous indigenous tribes. We'll visit some local tribes to learn more about their everyday lives and the culture of Laos. Late afternoon is the best time to arrive.

Day 5: Relax and enjoy a entire day at Luang Prabang

After a few days of biking. It's the tour's required and delightful non-riding day. We'll spend the entire day relaxing and seeing the historic city of Luang Prabang, a wonderful city with delicious food and plenty of places to see. You can also rent bikes and go about to see more tribes, waterfalls, and pagodas... Meals on your own, with the freedom to select your favorite native Laos cuisine.

Day 6: Luang Prabang to Muang Xai (distance 200km)

We continue our motorbike tour to Vietnam for another long day after leaving the gorgeous city of Luang Prabang. Today's route is a little busier, but it's still delightful, with several stops to visit Hmong and Thai communities. The highlight of the day will be a trip down the Mekong River. We finish the day at the little village of Muang Xai, where we will spend the night in a quiet motel.

Day 7: Muang Xai - Vietnam’s border to Dien Bien Phu (distance 120km)

In Laos, the motorbike journey comes to an end. That is the last day in Laos, and it will be a relaxed and brief day. We'll go to the east, where we'll cross the border into Vietnam after completing some paperwork. We continue our motorbike tour to Vietnam with a picturesque ride downhill past Thai people's rural hamlet before arriving in the flat magnificent valley of Dien Bien Phu.

You will witness a big, green rice field surrounded by mountains; the trip is quite simple, and we may stop and pay visits to war sites or local people's villages to learn more about Vietnamese culture. In Dien Bien, stay in a hotel.

Day 8: Dien Bien Phu - Sin Ho (distance 170km)

Visit the ancient ruins of a French battleground during the Indochina War. We'll leave Dien Bien and ride down the Da River on a calm, sealed route with magnificent views of the mountains and river. This is another highlight of this unique Laos-Vietnam motorcycle tour. We'll next ride our motorcycles up on the beautiful pass to Sin Ho.

Day 9: Sin Ho to Sapa (distance 120km)

It'll be another easy day ride to Sapa, with the route going up and down through some of Northern Vietnam's most magnificent mountain passes. We'll have lunch in Sapa and then spend the afternoon exploring the area on foot or on motorcycles. We may continue riding our motorcycles to several neighboring valleys to view more magnificent rice terraces and learn more about the Dzao and Zay people and enjoy a short Sapa motorcycle tour. It’s definitely worth being the bonus point of this Laos - Vietnam motorbike tour. We will spend a night there in a hotel.

Day 10: Sapa to Thac Ba Lake (distance 240km)

This incredible Vietnam – Laos motorbike adventure continues with another long day. The motorbike trip from Sapa to Thac Ba Lake is a combination of on-road and off-road riding past several picturesque Tay, Thai, and Dzao villages... We'll finish the motorbike trip about 3:30 p.m. in one of the Dzao people's lovely and tranquil villages near the Thac Ba lake. Then we take a 1.5-hour boat trip around Thac Ba's lovely and green lake. Stay and have a BBQ party with the Dzao people's family.

Day 11: Thac Ba Lake and back to Hanoi (distance 180km)

Around 8:00 a.m., depart with the family for Hanoi. We may do some off-road riding or simply ride back to Hanoi on the calm back roads. We continue to ride along the Red River to avoid the crowded roadway. With heavy local traffic, the last 20 km back to Hanoi is the most challenging portion of the journey, but it's not too awful if you ride cautiously and slowly behind the guide. At approximately 3:30 p.m, this fantastic Vietnam and Laos motorbike tour comes to a close in Hanoi.
