Guided Tour17 Days / 16 Nights
This 17-day motorbike tour around Vietnam is a great mix of on-road and off-road riding that takes you through almost all of North Vietnam's most beautiful landscapes, including Ba Be National Park, Ban Gioc Waterfalls, Dong Van – Ha Giang Rock Plateau, Sapa, and the most interesting parts of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The northern section of Vietnam provides more off-road riding and cultural exploration, while the southern half of the Ho Chi Minh route is a gentler ride with more historical sites to learn about Vietnam's history and war.
At 8 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel. At approximately 9:00 a.m., transfer to the starting site and begin the ride. We make every effort to avoid congested city roads in the morning till we get to Cho Chu town (Thai Nguyen province), where we have lunch. We will have a nice motorbike trip to Ba Be after lunch because the roads are less congested and provide a lot of green and peaceful views of nature/mountains. Around 4 p.m. We arrive at Pac Ngoi, a lovely Tay hamlet nestled gently on the shores of Ba Be Lake. Stay with the Tay family and eat in a diner.
The sound of the Ba Be National Park or the dogs, pigs, and chickens in the villages may wake you up earlier than usual, but it's your chance to breathe in the fresh air of the morning and experience a new day in a distant part of Vietnam. We go a short distance to the Babe lake pier after breakfast with the Tay family to begin our 2-hour boat ride around Vietnam's largest natural lake, Ba Be Lake.
We'll take a leisurely motorbike journey to Cao Bang after another lunch in Pac Ngoi hamlet. This short Cao Bang motorbike tour from the town is around 150 kilometers, and it is nearly all on a pleasant road up and up to Cao Bang, where we will spend the second night.
After bidding farewell to the host, the professional guide of Vietnam Motorbike Tour Expert will take you on a picturesque back-road ride to the Chinese border. The trip is nearly entirely on-road and offers breathtaking views of mountains and paddy fields as you pass through ethnic communities. Near midday, we'll be at the Chinese border, where we'll be able to witness Ban Gioc, Vietnam's largest and most magnificent waterfall. Stop for lunch and then spend the rest of the day resting by the waterfall, taking photographs or swimming. We'll return to the lovely roads after our time with the waterfall and enjoy another motorbike trip to Quang Uyen, a little tranquil village. At 5:00 p.m, We'll arrive at the Tay people's family near town, dismount, and have some pleasant time with the family.
It's another long day ride, although this one isn't as difficult. The journey is primarily on paved roads with some easy off-road sections. Offering some fascinating excursions to Tay, Dzao, and H'Mong communities...
At approximately 5:00 p.m., return to the hotel in Meo Vac.
Today's ride promises to be the highlight of this motorcycle trip in Vietnam, as we will travel to one of the most remote parts of the country, where we will see many ethnic groups with their own cultures, as well as imposing mountains such as the Pi Leng Pass, one of the four longest and also most gorgeous passes in Northern Vietnam, the Rock Plateau, the Vuong Palace in Dong Van, and the "Heaven Gate" in Quan Ba. This is without a doubt the finest motorbike trip in Vietnam, with several intriguing and beautiful sights at every turn. Arrive late in the afternoon at Ha Giang.
We'll leave Ha Giang city at 8:30 a.m. and go straight for the tiny roads, where we'll have a leisurely and quiet ride through towns... Lunch in Luc Yen, a little village. After that, we'll ride along the shore of Vietnam's largest man-made lake, Thac Ba Lake, stopping at a peaceful town near the lake for a break before spending an hour and a half cruising around this lovely lake. Stay in a stilted home with the Dzao people.
We will go on a wonderful motorbike ride along the Thac Ba lake after breakfast with the family. This trip promises to be one of the greatest motorcycle excursions in North Vietnam, with spectacular views of the mountains, emerald lake, and rice fields. After lunch in Pho Rang town, we continue our motorbike journey to Sapa, with a brief stop at the Chinese border to get a glimpse of China from Vietnam. The remaining 40 kilometers of the motorbike ride to Sapa must be a highlight of today's Vietnam motorcycle tour since we'll be riding up and up to a height of 1600 meters above sea level, where Sapa town is located. This provides us with several opportunities to photograph terrace rice fields and colorful hill cultures. We'll arrive in Sapa about 5:00 p.m.
In Sapa, there are just a few alternatives for a relaxing day. We may go for a brief walk about town or take a cable car up to Vietnam's highest mountain, Fanxipan, or take another simple and short trip down the lovely Muong Hoa valley to view some more H'Mong, Zay, or Tay villages. Stay at Sapa's Hotel.
We'll have a fantastic motorbike ride down to Than Uyen town after leaving Sapa. The motorbike journey from Sapa to Than Uyen is another highlight of this Vietnam Motorbike Tour, as we will traverse the O Qui Ho pass, one of Northern Vietnam's longest and most scenic routes. We'll motorcycle through green tea plantations and some off-road after passing through the mountain pass, arriving in Than Uyen town around 4:00 p.m.
The trip will begin at 8:30 a.m. Today we'll go on another fantastic motorbike trip in north Vietnam; it'll take us nearly entirely over a mountain route with spectacular views of terrace farms and pass through a number of hill tribal communities. This is a normal motorbike trip in Northern Vietnam; we simply weave our way through the mountain backroads, stopping every half hour to snap photos or speak with the colorful locals. At 5 p.m., we'll arrive at Phu Yen.
This is a brief North Vietnam motorcycle tour, but it promises to be one of the highlights of the trip. After leaving town, we'll have a lovely motorbike tour around the Da River Lake, which will remind you of a coastline motorcycle trip. In the center of the mountain and near the river lake, the road is virtually deserted. After the river ride, we'll ride up and up to the Moc Chau plateau, which is known for its green tea and mild temperatures. Following lunch, we'll bike down to Mai Chau Valley over a tiny mountain pass. We will finish our fantastic Northern Vietnam motorbike trip at Mai Chau at 4:30 p.m., after which we may have a brief walk about the tranquil village of the Thai people.
Starting today, we'll cycle the Ho Chi Minh path all the way down to central Vietnam. We will have a very exciting Mai Chau motorbike trip through rustic Thai villages and lush rice fields after breakfast and saying our goodbyes to the host.
When we leave the valley, we'll continue riding along the Ma River on a short, scenic, and paved route until we reach Cam Thuy town, where we'll have lunch. After lunch, take a leisurely motorbike excursion along the Ho Chi Minh Trail to Tan Ky. At around 5:00 p.m., we arrive at Tan Ky town.
During the Vietnam War, Tan Ky was the beginning point of the Ho Chi Minh trail. At that time, all of the troops, together with their food and supplies, assemble at Tan Ky and begin their journey to the south of Vietnam, where they would join the fight in the DMZ. Tan Ky is presently a little village located along the Ho Chi Minh path, a quiet town surrounded by mountains.
We continue our Vietnam motorcycle journey to Phong Nha and Ke Bang National Park along the Ho Chi Minh path. The journey includes various stops to view a green tea farm and hill tribal communities... The Ho Chi Minh trail motorbike ride in the afternoon, in particular, provides a spectacular view of the highlands, reminding you of the limestone mountains in Halong Bay. Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park's karst creation dates back to the Paleozoic (around 400 million years ago), making it Asia's oldest major karst region. The park's karst environment is very complex, with numerous significant geographic characteristics due to tremendous geological upheavals. We'll arrive at Phong Nha about 4:30 p.m., and if time and weather allow, we'll take a short boat ride down the green river to see several well-known caverns.
Unlike many other Vietnam motorbike tour operators, Vietnam Motorbike Tour will transport you to Khe Sanh on the Ho Chi Minh Trail's western side. The western path is known as the "secret trail" that the US Army never knew about and bombed. It travels through the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, and for more than 200 kilometers, you will only encounter a few other motorbikes but a lot of magnificent scenery. This path might be one of the greatest motorbike trips in Vietnam; especially after exiting Phong Nha National Park, we will have the opportunity to see the former US Merine Base with tunnels, an air base, and a fascinating museum in Khe Sanh. At around 5:00 p.m., we will complete the magnificent western Ho Chi Minh route motorbike trip.
This will be another full day with visits to notable attractions in DZM to learn more about the Vietnam conflict..., then we will leave the Ho Chi Minh route to ride on another historic road No 9 to the east and get closer to Vietnam's coast.Although it is a short trip, we should stop at several important historical places along the way, including the Hien Luong Bridge, which serves as a symbol of the boundary between the north and south of Vietnam, the 17th Parallel Museum, and the famed Vinh Moc Tunnel. We'll take a brief motorbike excursion to Hue after lunch near the tunnels. Arrive at the lovely city of Hue about 5:00 p.m.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will have some free time to explore Hue's charms. Depending on your mood, we may go on a motorbike trip around Hue to view several kings' tombs along the Huong river or take a simple bus tour of the city. We'll return to Hue for lunch on one of the city's famed culinary lanes. Take use of your free time in the afternoon to rest at the beach, go for a longer walk around Hue, or go shopping. You are on your own at the diner, so feel free to eat anything you like in Hue.
The final day of this motorcycle trip in Vietnam is no longer the same as it used to be. We will have a fantastic motorbike ride down the coast after leaving Hue, passing through several fishing villages and beautiful tomb fields. The vista is significantly different from the Ho Chi Minh trail's mountain outlook. In particular, the motorbike trip over the Hai Van pass must be one of the greatest motorbike excursions along Vietnam's coast. We'll arrive in Da Nang about 2:00 p.m. You may either remain in Da Nang's seaside city or continue riding for another 30 kilometers to Hoi An's historic town before saying your goodbyes to the Vietnam Motorbike Tour guide team.
